How to Apply

Fees

The University of Melbourne has adopted a new system for charging Postgraduate Course Fees. Fees per subject will be set on an annual basis.

Fee Help

Fee Help is now available for this course for Australian residents or holders of Australian permanent visas. Fee Help is an interest-free loans facility for fee-paying postgraduate students undertaking non-research courses. It is similar to the deferred payment arrangements available under HECS. For further details please go to http://www.goingtouni.gov.au/

Tax Benefits:

If your study has a connection to your current income-earning activities, you should examine  Taxation Ruling TR 98/9 closely with your accountant.  The ruling examines deductibility of  program fees under self-education expenses under Section 8-1 of the Australian Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.  The ruling provides comprehensive guidelines on eligibility and types of deductions available.

Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)

Students successfully gaining a place in the Master of Animal Science will be eligible to obtain a CSP (formerly HECS) place in 2008. A CSP Place will mean a significant reduction in the cost to students of course fees. Students receiving a CSP place will also be charged for residential costs and text books for each subject. For further information please contact the Master of Animal Science office. You can also visithttp://fee.acs.unimelb.edu.au/csp_next.aspx for further information.
